Restore & Renew is a grassroots, volunteer-led community revitalization nonprofit based in Dixie County, Florida. Founded by local people who care deeply about their home, Restore & Renew brings people together to restore and renew the places around them — creating healthier, more vibrant, and more hopeful communities. We believe that when a community takes pride in where it lives, incredible things happen.

We take on hands-on community projects like building restorations, beautification efforts, public space improvements, community entrance signs, landscaping, murals, and community events. But our work goes beyond the physical — it builds community pride, hope, and momentum. When neighbors work side by side to improve their shared spaces, something powerful happens. We're here to make that happen as often as possible.

Restore & Renew is rooted in Cross City and serves communities throughout Dixie County, Florida. We began in Cross City and have grown to take on projects across the county. If you're in Dixie County, you're in our backyard — and we'd love to see your community thrive.

Yes — completely. Restore & Renew has no paid positions. Every single person involved contributes their time, skills, and energy because they care about their community. From leadership to project crews to event helpers, we are 100% volunteer-powered. That's something we're genuinely proud of.

The easiest way to get started is to complete the volunteer interest form on our Get Involved page. Just tell us your name, contact info, your interests, and when you're generally available — and we'll reach out when opportunities that fit come up. We make it easy, and there's no commitment required just to express interest.

Not at all. There's a place for everyone — whether you can paint, landscape, haul materials, take photos, help at events, or simply show up and work alongside your neighbors. Skills of every kind are welcome, but enthusiasm is the only true requirement. If you want to help, we want you there.

Absolutely. Businesses, civic groups, church groups, and organizations are encouraged to volunteer together. Group volunteer days are a wonderful way for organizations to give back while building real relationships in the community. Just note your group in the volunteer form, or reach out directly — we'd love to coordinate something.

Yes. When you fill out the volunteer interest form, you can indicate your interest in specific project types or locations. We'll do our best to match you with projects that fit both your interests and your availability. We can't always guarantee a perfect match, but we genuinely try.

Donations can be made online through our Get Involved page. Restore & Renew accepts online donations through a secure payment platform, and Venmo is also available. Check the Get Involved page for the most current giving options — we keep that updated as new ways to give become available.

Your donation funds community revitalization projects throughout Dixie County — materials, equipment, event costs, and the supplies needed to restore buildings, beautify public spaces, and create community improvements that benefit everyone. Every dollar stays local, and every dollar goes to work. There's no overhead, no salaries — just direct community impact.

Restore & Renew welcomes designated gifts when possible. If you'd like to direct your donation toward a specific project or effort, simply note that preference when donating or reach out to us directly through the Get Involved page. We'll do our best to honor your designation and keep you informed about how your gift was used.

Yes. In-kind donations of paint, lumber, landscaping materials, tools, equipment, and other supplies are often just as valuable as cash. Before dropping anything off, please contact us through the Get Involved page so we can coordinate and make sure we can put your donation to its best use.

Projects are evaluated based on community need, visibility and impact, feasibility given available volunteers and resources, and the potential to inspire momentum and pride in the surrounding community. We look for projects where effort can produce meaningful, visible transformation — places where before and after really tells a story.

Yes. Community members are encouraged to suggest properties or locations that could benefit from restoration or beautification. A project suggestion form is available on the Get Involved page. Submitting a suggestion does not guarantee project selection — but every suggestion is considered, and community input genuinely shapes what we work on.

Our projects span a wide range of categories — building restorations, exterior beautification, public space improvements, community entrance signs and monuments, landscaping, murals, and community events. Past examples include the Cross City Post Office restoration, the Dixie County Welcome Signs, and the Futch Building. If it improves the look, feel, or function of a community space in Dixie County, it's within our mission.

Restore & Renew works on publicly owned and community-use properties, or with private property owners who welcome the improvement. We always coordinate with property owners before beginning any work — collaboration and communication are part of how we operate.

Registration links are available on each individual event page. For most events, registration is handled through Eventbrite. Just click the "Register Now" button on the event page and you'll be taken directly to the registration form. It only takes a few minutes, and registration helps us plan and prepare for a great event.
